Friday July 14, 2006 - Canyons and Gorges
Ride the Cascade Lakes Hwy., then take the old McKenzie Hwy 242 through the mountains.. This is the original wagon road through the mountains, parts of it are very winding.. Then Hwy 126 back to the Super 8 in Springfield.
Anyone who wants to go should arrange rooms soon.. This is prime vacation time and rooms might not be available if you wait too long.
This ride is intended for intermediate riders, cruising sweeping scenic roads with some twisties thrown in. We'll be on our motorcycles 4 or 5 hours per day. We'll make plenty of stops for tourist stuff and food too, so plan for a 7 to 8 hours a day between motels. You will be traveling from city to city for a new adventure every day! Remember that you must bring everything with you every day for the whole trip, so pack accordingly.
You're welcome to join up for any portion of the trip. Start any day, end any day. You can even hook up in the middle of any route. Contact WCM member Chris Stilwell at stilwell@efn.org about exact routes and estimated times and we can watch for you.
